For Courtney, a Washburn native and UMPI graduate, becoming the children’s librarian was the ultimate way to continue her work with the library, after having volunteered for storytimes during the past year. She previously worked as a middle school teacher and operated her own daycare in Perham. She loves working with children, so this role is the perfect fit for her!
Courtney holds monthly Storytime activities for children, including craft making and snacks. The children's library programs are growing, including summer reading, Lego club, and homeschool group sessions. She is excited for the future of Washburn Memorial Library and what it can offer the community.

I am a Therapeutic Bodyworker, Certified Holistic Nutritionist, & Yoga Instructor. I hold a Bachelor's & Master's degree in Health Sciences and minored in English & Literature. I am a book gleaner, chronic journal writer, genuine introvert, organic garlic grower, trail hiker, sun seeker, and a tea & coffee lover!
I am excited to be part of the Washburn Memorial Library as the Library Director. It is a quaint and comfortable space to welcome our patrons to enjoy our collection! Courtney and I are thrilled to create offerings for both adults and children to inspire growth in the journey of learning! We strive to offer something for everybody- from book clubs, yoga classes, game days, children's activities, and so much more!
I like to ask people what their current favorite books are. What are mine?
